Jaycee's Fourth of July Celebration
Every year, on the 4th of July, the Waycross Jaycee's celebrate with music, food, and fireworks at Memorial Stadium, located on US 1/Memorial Drive. People from all over the area come to enjoy live entertainment and activities for the whole family at the stadium. The grand finale of the evening is a fireworks show usually beginning around 9pm. The fireworks display can be seen from almost anywhere in town if you happen to be passing through.

Waycross Area Community Theatre is excited to announce audition dates for their first production of the 2009-2010 season, “Little Shop of Horrors”. Auditions will be Tuesday and Thursday, July 7 & 9 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. each evening at the Ritz Theatre in downtown Waycross . Anyone wishing to audition should come prepared with a 30 second monologue as well as a song of their choosing. We will have a pianist available or you can bring a CD. “Little Shop of Horrors” is being directed by Benji Davis and produced by Roger Johnson. Rehearsals will begin the end of July and actual show dates begin mid-September. Men and women, ages 15 and above, are encouraged to come to auditions! Hope to see you at the theatre!

To present “Main Street Follies,” a variety show to raise money for both organizations. “Main Street Follies” will take place July 24 and 25 at 8 p.m. at the (air-conditioned) Ritz Theatre in downtown Waycross . Tickets are $10 and all proceeds will go to Main Street and WACT to help fund future downtown events. Acts include singers and dancers, Broadway numbers, comedic skits and lots of fun for all ages.

The Ware County Schools 
will hold their annual Kick Off Meeting on July 27, 2009 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. at Ware County High School . In the past, several businesses have been at the meeting to give out calendars, pens, etc. to the teachers and staff as they enter the building.
